Pre & Post Care for Microblading & Ombré Eyebrows

Pre-care  (before)

1 day before

  • NO alcohol or caffeine 24 hours before procedure.

  • NO Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or Advil/Ibuprofen 24 hours before procedure.

  • Shower and fix your hair, as you need to avoid getting your brows wet for several days.

  • Please Note: You'll be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.

1 week before

  • NO sun and tanning 1-2 week prior to procedure.

  • NO brow waxing, tinting, microdermabrasion or chemical peels 1-2 weeks before.

2-4 weeks before

  • NO AHA skincare products close to the eyebrow area 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after your procedure.

  • NO Botox around the brow area 2 weeks prior.

  • NO Retin-A 4 weeks Prior

Post-care  (after)

1-2 days after

  • Don't touch brows or surrounding area for 24 hours.

  • After 24 hours keep the brow area clean by using a gentle fragrance-free cleanser and water with freshly washed hands morning and night (2x/day). Clean area by moving in the direction of the hair growth.

2-4 weeks after

  • Don't rub, pick or scratch the treated area. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate off. Picking can cause scarring and pigment loss.

  • Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, pool (chlorine is irritating), sauna, steam rooms, hot showers and/or hot baths for 3-4 weeks.

  • Avoid excessive sweating from exercise and physical activities for at least 1 and up to 2 weeks.

  • Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 2 weeks.

  • Avoid Retin-A close to brow area.

  • NO makeup or skincare products to be used on the treated area for 2 weeks.

  • NO Botox around the brow area for 2 weeks.

  • NO eyebrow tinting for 2 weeks.

  • NO facials, chemical treatments and microdermabrasion for 4 weeks.

  • After 2 weeks, once the area has healed completely, use sunblock when going out in the sun to prevent the color from fading. (At least SPF 30).

6-8 weeks after

  • Schedule your touch-up service.

  • Follow the pre-care instructions above.

What to expect

Immediately following your procedure, the tattooed area will appear to be anywhere from 20-40% darker and bolder in color and 15% thicker. This can last up to 10 days after the treatment while the initial healing process takes place (This is very common for all permanent cosmetic procedures).

The treated area may feel a bit like sunburn afterwards but there should be minimal discomfort. During the initial healing period, there should be minimal scabbing or flaking of the skin. If there is some scabbing or flaking, do not pick, and allow the scab or dry skin to come off on its own.

The complete healing process takes about 6-8 weeks, at which time the true color of the tattoo is evident. During this process, your tattoo will soften and lighten. Be patient, even if you think too much color has been lost, as your skin is still regenerating and naturally exfoliating.

Wait at least 6 weeks to see the true color, as it seems to take on new strength. Even with proper care, clients may lose original hairstrokes which make brows look uneven. It is absolutely normal. That’s the reason why most customers need a touchup after 6 weeks (INCLUDED in initial cost).

PERMANENT MAKEUP IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR ANY CLIENTS WHO ARE OR HAVE:

  • Pregnant

  • Nursing (Dr's note is preferred)

  • Diabetic

  • Previous permanent makeup on brow area, unless the density of color is 30% or less

  • Viral infections and/or diseases

  • Epilepsy

  • A pacemaker or major heart problems

  • Had an organ transplant

  • Tendency towards keloids

  • Seborrheic dermatitis

  • Skin irritations or Psoriasis near the treated area (rashes, sunburn, acne, etc.)

  • Sick (cold, flu, etc.)

  • Had Botox in the past 2 weeks

  • Have upcoming vacations or special occasions planned shortly after

  • Used Accutane (oral acne medication) in the past year

  • Allergic to anesthetic (Lidocaine) or nickel

  • Blood thinner medications

  • Sensitive skin that has a tendency to bleed easily

Attention Please: We strongly advise prospective new clients to book Microblading appointments at least 3-4 months in advance of vacations, weddings, and special occasions. This allows adequate time for healing of both your Initial Microblading Appointment as well as a Touch-Up Appointment 6-8 Weeks prior to your event.

There are no implied or written guarantees if you do not follow the above pre & post care instructions!
